The Lafourche Parish District Attorney is the statutory legal advisor for the parish government and for all parish boards and commissions domiciled within the parish.

The District Attorney’s Office issues both advisory and legal opinions to the parish government and to parish boards and commissions upon request by resolution.  In addition, the District Attorney’s Office hosts seminars dealing with the La. Open Meetings Law, the La. Public Records Law and the La. Public Bid Law.  We also coordinate with the La. Ethics Board to provide in person training for the ethics training that is statutorily required on an annual basis for all public servants.
