Camille A. "Cam" Morvant Lafourche Parish District Attorney School Involvement
Project L.E.A.D.
(Legal Enrichment and
Decision-Making)
The District Attorney's office offers a
unique classroom experience for parish schools to teach children about the
Louisiana criminal justice system. Members of the judicial system and the
medical community interact with the class through role playing focusing on
legal, social, and medical consequences of the decisions they make.
"My gratitude to all involved with the
Project L.E.A.D. program. Your participation in the education of our
Lafourche parish youth is appreciated."
- Angie Besson
LCO Middle
"I think the L.E.A.D.
program helped to increase students' awareness of personal consequences as well
as the legal ramifications involved in breaking he law. The kids enjoyed
the role-playing. I think it was instrumental in creating a lasting effect
on what they've learned."
- Joycelyn C. Terrebonne

"...I felt that it was
very insightful for the children to learn what legal issues were involved in
seemingly innocent activities. The mock trial was especially a real realty
check for some..."
- Paulette Plaisance DeFelice
Holy Rosary
Domino Effect
The District Attorney’s office, in
cooperation with
M.A.D.D., holds presentations throughout
Lafourche to high school students teaching the dangers of underage drinking and
driving.
Violence Intervention Program (VIP)
Our VIP program is a zero-tolerance school
violence program we have been able to implement. The program has been
designed not only to combat violence in the schools, but to treat and prevent
the causes of such outbreaks.
Truancy Program The truancy program has been developed to combat chronic absenteeism and holds accountable parents who allow it to happen. Our program seeks to compliment our School Board's efforts to make our school system the best it can be.
